No Distractions

I don't know the current fashions, famous brands, or latest styles.
But I know my way through wooded parks and trails that wind for miles.

Haven't had TV for several years, nor seen the latest movies.
Couldn't name the actor-of-the-year or Hollywood's newest floozies.

No evening news disrupts my peace, nor steals my precious time.
Won't allow continual sadness control the atmosphere of my mind.

Each day delivers brand new hours for each of us to choose
Unthankful thoughts and bitterness or peace and gratitude

Distractions steal our focus while we lose life's simple pleasures
Postponing goals and exercise, forsaking those we treasure.

Decide today to guard your life from trivial distractions
And do the things that mean the most with peace and satisfaction.

Polly....just got back from my community garden plot I visit every sundown! It's where I fill my soul! My Moonglow Sunflowers are in bloom at 8' tall!

A terrific poem Polly. There are so many distractions.
