How Do You Forgive

I asked a man one day how do I heal from my past
He looked at me and his wise advice was "Well you have to forgive, forget, and
move on."
How do you Forgive?
How do you forgive the ones who beat you?
How do you forgive the ones who raped you?
How do you forgive the ones who tortured you?
How do you forgive the ones who taught you to fear the knock at your bedroom
door?
How do you forgive the ones who destroyed your innocence?
How do you forgive the ones who taught you to hate yourself, to detest what you
are forced to look at in the mirror everyday?
How do you forgive the ones who are long gone from your life but still terrorize
you in your sleep?
How do you forgive the ones who terrified you so badly that when even those who
you love the most look like the ones who terrorized you so long ago?
How do you forgive them?
How do you forget what they did?
How do you just move on?
I don't think it's that easy.
