Why

We fight,
you yell?
I play,
you ignore?
I joke,
we fight?

Over and over,
more and more.
I do everything right,
at least it seems.
I try,
but fail to see you smile.

You drink,
everything seems great!
Next morning comes,
but we start again.

What more can I do,
to change your ways?
Each day I cry,
I hurt,
I cut.
Now I'm quiet,
shy and timid.

I want us back,
like the times before.
Though now those times,
are wash down shore.
Now 4:30,
we fight,
you yell.
