Dictators of our contemporary society
cold and without pity
I'm a number, you're a number
can't you hear the murmur
of the of puniest processor...
Challenges to the strength of all
numbers run the machine
but numbers aren't the truth
for somewhere else, lies the root
of what makes the sum
of you and I under the sun!

As we stand on the edge
in this era of captivity
querying for the right answers
counting up numbers...
from none to forever
Can they ever lead
toward healthier deeds
for isn't it only the soul
that can dream
the path to be chosen...

From infinity to zero
numbers won't make us heroes
for we haven't yet mastered
the understanding of our neighbours
Are we just an era
soon to be stricken
Then will there be many hourahs!
from the children of our children
Numbers!... Can they even suggest
 the meaning of man's reason
like the birth of an idea
or tears and laughter from and I

With numbers, we're learning
so many new complexities
which breed so much agony!
for where the dollars, we follow
hiding in the darkness of its shadow
So while the steel birds keep on flying
over hopes of fragile souls
the numbers keep on ruling
making us live like fools
