The Mighty Drum

the mighty drum sounds
and i shall come to dance
when the sun does fade
the moon will be my jade

the mighty drum warns
that i was forgotten once
for when your friends draw back
it is a point to mark

the mighty drum fixes
the millions of shattered pieces
for though the heart leaks blood
the cure is not a sword

the mighty drum flows
across the world like doves
it never fails to act
when speech conceals the fact

the mighty drum sounds
and i shall come to dance
for love has only sailed
where all of them have failed.
