Darkness Crawls
Deep in the shadows
night, it falls.
Lurking silently
as darkness crawls.
Into sight and out of mind,
all trace of light is left behind.
The clouds roll in
no stars in sight,
ready for
the sleepless night.
Tomorrow is far
it’s easy to see,
farther away
than you’d like it to be.
Making it through,
It’s too much to ask
when you’re hiding behind,
that well thought out mask.
