The Pastor's Past

THE PASTOR'S PAST

Just when we met
I recollected that moment in time
When my work was to stomach
Secret missions for the haves
And I, the have not
Would be sent on erotic errands
For the Bosses to have a change
 In their daily bed menu
And I would keep mum to save
The fights mamas would put up at home
In case they smelled a rat.
If not the strange fragrances!
This could halt my earnings,
Only to sleep on an empty stomach,
But apparently,
There are lots of meal offers,
For I tend God’s flock.

Just when we met
I realised,
That we should always
Save a thought for people who are
Enduring what we look at now as our past.
That sorry sight of a pauper
I have seen in the city centre
This afternoon,
Took me back to the Egypt of my life
When life was concrete
And the world like an aperture.

There are some serious statements within these lines..I feel like it is saying that a pastor of a church is having free rein with the unmarried women of the church and that is not a good thought at all..I hope that I have misunderstood what is being said..Sara
