Birthday Confession

Well the first time we met, totally disinterested, you simply wrote me off
Cared less then, but today when you talk of leaving me behind, hurts like a scoff
I am just saying that I am literally amazed by the journey we have had so far
With you I have matured from being just another chic blown away by guys with guitar

You mean so much to me, perfect friend I’d say; then again I know it’s a silent debate
I’ll deny it forever, but really every time we got together felt as special as being on a date
My elephant’s memory of that moment at sea face still makes my heart take a joyful leap
I’ll hold on to it always, n when I remember, your heart beat on loop as background score I’d keep

I love the way you fight to express yourself; how you manage to take out time for me always
The patience with which appreciate my space; how you make me bare my soul with just that gaze
I am amused when you are witty and you pat yourself; how you try to turn me on with a tight embrace
Your smoothness after a gulping a drink; how you let me imitate your quirky ways and take your case

I am surprised by your persistence to be around; how you are willing to change to cater to my whim
Your calmness in situations I lose grip; how deftly you manage your mom’s foodie affections to stay slim
I am awed by your flirtatious pursuits; how much you care and just how protected I feel with you around
Your acceptance of things to go with the flow; how much I celebrate the love in each other we found
