Remember Yesterday

Remember Yesterday

I Remember Yesterday well
I remember the good times and the bad
The loving, the fun and hard times
I remember the closeness with family
The busy times of rushing to and fro
I remember the people and places
The work, food and drinks, and dirty dishes

If you think I live in the past
Maybe it if preferable to the lonely times
The isolation I feel
The days and nights that drag on endlessly
The visits I wait for that never happen
The food that seems to all look the same
Taste is not there, its bland, often cold .

I Remember Yesterday when I could do things
for myself and not have to wait for help
I remember the flashes of smiles
The sound of childish giggles, sudden hugs.
The door bell and phone ringing
sometimes at the same time
Why would I want to forget yesterday?

I want to Remember Yesterday
It is today, I now want to forget
The feeling of being un-wanted,
un-loved and alone, and endless days
I want and need to Remember Yesterday

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
