She Never Listened

She Never Listened.

She used to live here once
but later took off to the streets
due to her ignorant youth
and thinking, that she could
beat the wisdom of the streets
with her shallow knowledge of
the countryside.
But who's at loss now?
She nowdays roams along the
same streets,
the wild streets she thought
she could tame with her
stunning beauty
and entertained.
She thought their smiles were
genuine ones
and their advances just as same
but Lo! she turns her head on
the lookout
only to meet the same smiley
chaps then,
who looked like clowns,
wearing stern looking faces
their smiles faded not even with
the faintest trace
as if to indirectly tell her, "You
no longer fit in our clique.Give us
a breather for once."
She heard but never heeded to
the words
of them who knew the tricky
ways of the city,
Suli said, hearing and not
listening does no benefit to your
system
and there's a swahili saying that
says 'Mtoto akililia wembe mpe'

Kweli kabisa. The city might smile, but it might also do worse.
