Irony of Being Me

The irony of being me
still wanting to see
What me self worth
could be
Destruction stands in my way
Feeling like my body would soon decay
To my dismay
but.. still I stay
Standing alone in the mist of the fight
I know I can,
I know I might, freedom I do stare in your face
Pleading my case
knowing this is a race
I can't help but pace
Hoping one day you would re-store me
whole again is what I seek
If I could have just one peek into the future
I would seek
Hoping one day you would re-store me

A sharp piece of writing, April. You can rap it, too. Thanks for visiting my poem. Viv x
