Desert Story

Stones inadvertently resemble pain
sharp when raw
freshly torn from rock.

Witnesses of time, they fill with voices
the ridges round off,
become children's cheeks.

Afterwards
they shrink,
stone egg cells
in an eternity of ideas.

Vicky dear, thanks for your comment. It is a great honor to see that my message was so well perceived. My meeting with Omani desert was very strong and I am very happy if I managed to play this extreme experience and strong feelings triggered.

I love the wisdom that shines through in this poem. Likening pain to stones -genius. It reminds us that no matter how accute the pain, just as stones disintergrate so does pain dissipate. Wonderful write Camelia!
