Rooney Tunes

                                          Rooney Tunes

A Yankee Doodle for all time!
One can't deny, you were the guy.
Born with stardust in your eyes,
it's no surprize, you would rise!

                                 A pistol in your pocket,
heaven knows of all that glows...
                                    within your star.
                                   You would go far!

The Andy Hardy that we know
                       from way back then...remember when?
And what a sight to see, you would be free...to roam about!
There'd be no doubt...the life and times for all to see...
                             The life! Of Mickey Rooney.

And what a mic you were back then...
You'd be a friend, just you and joots!
To dance with Judy Garland, and for sure, she was a darlin',
and could she sing! But you were king! Rooney Tunes.

What a team you were back then, dancin' all the time...
Singing to the end...with your best friend!
But you moved on...and it was Ava...
who went out with you in time!

She'd be your wife, but there was strife...
with her, and all your wives!
You would come home, without a home at all...
                          but you stood tall...Rooney Tunes!

And it was Rooney at the track, and forever, you'd be back...
to play them all...and came up short!
A song and dance man for all time...
It was vaudeville in your prime, where you would shine!

And there's no mold for you in time... A real jim-dandy!
If there ever was an Andy Hardy!
