Conflict

Conflicted

The door is bolted still slightly ajar
Standing so close I see you from afar
Beacons shine out I stand in the dark
Dawn chorus erupts where is the lark
We need him this day bring us a spark.

Church bells peel but fall on deaf ears
We rub the lantern no genie appears
Heavens burst open the ground is still dry
Promised the truth then fed me more lies
We all did our best but nobody tries

You call out my name I can’t hear you shout
It’s dead of the night the sun still shines out
Clocks spin forward times in reverse
You say you’re a winner but need to be rehearse
Go on unchecked but still you coerce.
