A Death Sentence

a death sentence (meth),

so many forms of it i know
yet same effect when it takes hold,
robbing young soul's blind
taking away their chance of life,

one little hit is all they need
to become weak for it's disease,
i see it daily and yet they don't care
just pass it out like it's food,

one after another fall to the ground
lost within it's evil hold,
struggle each day but can't let it go
out the door on the hunt they roam,

til they gain enough funds to get high
within months it begins to shine,
leaving little marks behind
on the face, arms and legs,,

smoke it, snort it and shoot it too
doesn't make a difference how it's used,
just a death sentence with in a few months
as your body begins to shut down,

one high, just one more hit you claim
then it's all i'll forever need,
as your mind drifts away into another place
your heart beat slowly quits the race,

your eyes float around lost in a world of make believe
your family and friends try to help you out,
but you soon learn to block them out of life
as you steal, beg and borrow for the next high,

some even trade their body to get a fix
such a small price that you'll pay,
for a minute of feeling different inside
from some thing that is killing you each passing day,,,

still you can't see past the moment of time
that your stuck within telling everyone your fine,
as they look at you slowly slipping away
they reach out to do their best to save you,

but again and again you find away to escape
just to go on the hunt for the disease,
meth, ice, smack and even crack,
makes no difference any more to you,

because life isn't normal with out the feeling of death
knocking on your souls door,
one hit, then another and then shooting it up
because it's all that gives you freedom,,,,,,

nothing in this world is worth dying
yet you keep fighting to be who your not,
as another day begins you seeking it out
one hit, one shot, one more minute to snort,,,,,

a year of endless abuse finally comes and goes
late last night i got that call,
the one i knew was to come along the way
because you couldn't escape,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
