Both unusual and remarkable all at the same time,
was it your secret thoughts or mine,
that caused us to find one another in each other’s arms.

too attractive and too tempting to be resisted,
but you got it twisted, if you think I missed it,
missed how you were watching me watch you,
yeah, I see you see me, and I can appreciate the attention,
but it is not my intention to tear you away,
because I’m afraid you won’t stay,
then fear if you do you will walk away eventually……one day…

so before I stray or leave, or cause you to grieve,
I will lead you to believe that it’s all just a dream.
It’s not all that, in fact, quite a matter-of-fact,
so now you can go back, go back to where you belong,
not happy, not strong but safe,
secure and often wondering why you do this?
And then you remember it’s for them,
and even though it may never be remarkable,
it’s what you know and that’s real.
