A Quest For Life

I gazed at these starry skies and they gazed back
My gaze wonders on; across vast emptiness.
Like a wanderer, I am lost in the void of it's vastness
No much like a newly born babe
For I searched and yet I searched not.

My soul is as a chilly wind, that blows through the icy desert nights.
I am but some lost pilgrim
On the journey for inner peace.
I fear the insatiable thirst of my mortal soul
Damned by the evil of greedy men
Is it peace that I seek or redemption?

I feel the skies emptiness whence I gazed
I hunger for piety, I hunger for redemption.
Why am I damned for the crimes of another?
I have drunk of the strongest of wine
I have drunk of the fountain whence cometh knowledge
Yet the anguish lingers on.

I have tasted all knowledge
Both sweet and sour
I am the essence of a dying star
I am the brilliance of a lost grace
I am a man with a purpose , one on a quest for life.
