Mister Bruno

So Mister Bruno at fifty four out of the blue
You say you'll come out of retirement can this be true
Then please let me beg you not try
For at your age you just might die
Inside the ring you were once the best
With incredible power you were blessed
This talk of return is just pure folly dear Frank
Death is no way to put cash in the bank
This country loves you the way that you are
So don't begin boxing don't even spar

At touch of her hand a stroke on his face
It's all that is needed to take him one pace
For he sits in his home without motivation
Another sign of the older generation
Together for fifty years loving and caring
The ups and downs of life sharing
Now all that is left is an old photograph
The one of their wedding day where they both laugh
No laughter now only sorrowful tears
At the parting he'd feared for so many years

Friendship Day

It's friendship day today
Make a video they say
Well technologies not for me
I write for my friends to see
How much they are loved and mean
How they all make my life serene
So to all of my friends I say
Love you all on this friendship day

Anticipating Spring

Sun's rays are anticipating spring
The twin joys of love will bring
Forth the blooming flowers
Enjoyed by all for days not hours
In the warm and gentle breeze
The blossom blows off the trees
Heralding green leaves to come
Underneath springs golden sun

Flames of passion under a pink sun
A galaxy of love has just begun
Springs prelude a warm place
Smiles shining on every face
Enjoy and join us everyone
In a place that's not alone for one

Matriarch Patriarch

When the matriarch of the family is gone
Can the patriarch stand up and carry on
Or will the family fall apart
Now it's lost its beating heart
The matriarch so strong is she
The patriarch sometimes can't be

Prayer prays his heavens pearls
Of spring smiles in petalled whirl's
Reaching up to gods ear's
Stretching back throughout the year
Thanking God for natures gifts
For everyone their hearts she lifts

Rubbish Bin

Why do you never notice me?
Am I too small for you to see?
Am I not under a street light?
So you can see me even at night
Why throw your rubbish on the floor
After all that's what I'm there for
The humble rubbish bin that is me
Keep Britain tidy with my help it could be

The sky was studded with sparkling stars
I swear you could see clear out to mars
Below a spring trickled, down a mountain side
The moon reflected bright in her eyes wide
A stunning moment not many will see
Yet a perfect night to propose to she

The weekend is here the weather is bad
Wet and windy and awfully drab
But just round the corner springs in the air
New life will be bursting forth everywhere
So all keep on smiling even if the weathers bad
For certain there will be better weekends to be had

Good day Owen, (well not quite yet LOL). I haven't seen much of you around the soup. I stumbled across your name, after reading Demetrios, Lovely path to heaven's monoku. Happy to see you online. Anyways, I must get back into the game of reading all my favorite poets. A delight to read, the pages of your new year. I see you are on page 5. I will be back tonight, and read a few more of your poems. PS --is this like a personal diary? Love LINDA (forever a fan)
