Donald Gardner Esquire

Two thousand fifteen what more need I say?
The seventeenth of June was a very sad day
For a gentleman left us Donald Gardner esquire
For a gentleman he was, one we all should admire

Everyone said what a great bloke Don was
There is no one to argue and that is because
He was always friendly, happy and bright
Loved a game of bingo with his friends of a night

With Simon his grandson he just loved to fish
Morning or night time whenever he’d wish
They’d spend many hours sitting in wait
Only to find that the fish had eaten their bait

All of his grandchildren could make him smile
Though some were scattered for many a mile
For his great grandchildren he had love untold
His great, great granddaughter Pippa he was able to hold

His family he loved and for them he worked hard
As a husband and father with life he has sparred
He battled and battled and always stood tall
He won many rounds but the bell tolls for all
