Butterfly

A butterfly so beautiful and free
Starts out as a flightless bug
A caterpillar not so pretty
And furry like a rug

The change doesn’t come over night
No it takes many days
But its cocoon wraps it tight
And transforms it in so many ways

We are like these butterflies
Before they have changed
We must let out all our cries
And get help to be rearranged

Like the branch holds the cocoon
We hold onto each other for a while
And it may be just as soon
That the changes, just like butterflies, make us smile.
