Oliver

Into our lives seven years ago you came
and nothing ever was the again the same.
Such love you brought
that we were straight away caught,
enmeshed in your delightful canine charm./
Your love and devotion was so unconditional,
in your bright brown eyes it shone,
and now, now you are gone
taken by cruel, merciless disease.

How we shall miss your joyous bark
as we strolled in the sweet smelling park,
how we shall miss your licking kisses,
and how you patiently waited at the gate
when we would be late.

We know that in the heaven worlds for such as you
there is a special place
where the Almighty Creator will bless you
with even greater love and spirit grace.

We know that now from all sickness and disease
you are free and made whole
and one day on that light bridge between heaven and Earth
we shall again meet and how wondrous and sweet
shall that be as our love is celebrated
and we are reunited./
