I Know a Boy

I know a boy with more scars on his hand than he can understand
It seems the worlds at his command to do his every demand
But he doesn't use words
Because words aren't as loud as his gun

The shots fired into the night, the Bang of fright
, his hand clenched around it... tight
He Thinks hes just trying to have a life hes making
But he sometimes forgets the lives hes taking
The families hes breaking, the mother who's aching

I know a boy with more things in his past than he cares to let last
He suppresses them, but they come back fast
I'm there when they resurface
When they creep back up into his mind, Trying to find a way to unwind
His control
They eat at his soul

There is a boy who I love deeper than any sea
And that's not easy for me, I've been hurt before you see.
But he has more scars on his hand than I could understand
And with love in high demand
I don't jump into the ocean, rather run my fingers through the sand.

The sand and all its grain holds the entire oceans pain
When the waves beat at the shore until its broken and sore
Oh you merciless sea
Treats it's banks the same way the world treats him and me
We push back a wave that came rolling in,
just to see a new one start up again
its his life...
Filled to the brim with heartache and strife
But I understand him, like he understands the tip of his knife
so maybe, one day
he will make me his wife

I love a boy with more scars on his hand than he or I can ever understand.
