The ocean is more often rough than smooth
When one upsets the gods with doubt.
Craving a lad’s pranking--
That deserves a spanking,
For Love’s union is not child’s play.
When I was a child I acted as a child
Needing Mother’s hugs and rebukes.
Living in childhood values is tad bit shallow,
And you wade in puddles,
But an adult is meant to swim in the waves.
For Hope is the mature communion
Where the glass vessel has no cracks.
And I discover husband’s deep water,
In summer mornings strung together like pearls.
Each blessed mating adds to the masterpiece.
