Bait

Go back in time,
read between the lines.
Can you now see what will be?
Do you honestly like what you see?

Back to here and now.
See what you've allowed?
Faith and trust are a bust.
All you feel is digust.

Who is the one truely at fault
for this full on crushing emotional assault?
The one who is causing all of the pain
or the one who followed their heart not their brain?

You told what you wanted, needed and believed
thinking if they knew what you'd give then that's what you'd recieve
Putting it all out there was absolutely a mistake.
All that did was give out ways to cause your heart to break.

Bet you didn't realize you were hooking your own bait,
now that you feel swallowed you see but it's too late.
The question now is where to go from here.
Impossible to know when you're suddenly facing your worst fear.

First to comment. What an outstanding rhyme poem, it has so much emotions and meanings. I love the last stanza and especially the last two verses. I am awed. Wow! Sami
