taste of Simplicity

The cities loud and the cars are hot
The clouds are gray
And the sun can’t shine
Through the towers tall
It’s cold in the shade, and it reeks of trash
But just an hour away
The clouds become white
The cars fade
The grass is cool
And the snow crunches under my feet
My mind is finally clear
I walk and walk, through the trees
And I can hear the birds
And I can feel the wind
No longer broken by the many buildings
My soul is free
On the snow capped mountain
Free to roam
No longer trapped
Inside the rat race
