Love Song

From whence we met on lavender petals
unfolding floribunda melodies
reviving the wilderness of summers
reborn and retold in folds of symphony;

We were so young and insignificant
yet powerful beyond each budding
branch, green with ever omnipotent
red-ripe thorns full of universe, plucking

my virgin fingertips like a guitar.
You calmed me, with whiffs of mild citrus.
Hearken! Hear its harmonies from afar!
Oh siren, I will crash and crash on the lips

of each leaf and flower of your flora
till I am part of your song, dearest rose,
I submit and submit to your aura
audaciously, in lyric, and in prose!
