Hot Chocolate

Sitting,
Alone and uninspired
Ruminating on my throne
Of the tired

Freezing,
My heater, broken and retired
In a building whose condemnation
Remains desired

Searching,
For some deeper, elaborated meaning
To a poem procrastinated
A cause for my demeaning

Sulking,
I lack muse and direction
I can only imagine the forthcoming drear
Of this poem’s lection

Drinking,
My hot chocolate keeps me company
As I mull over this poetry
And choose a word that rhymes only subtley

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.

I think poets go through writers block if you will often before a brilliant breakthrough. Like maybe it is the calm before the storm? Love this cozy poem.
