A Touch O' Light

Mine o’ quick heart, 'neath powdered mist o’ light,
Before dawn's chance to sway thy command,
Hold me here, still, delay this cloak o’ night,
And return my love with thy gentlest hand.

Tell the story o’ this romance I wear,
And pry open my eyes to newest fate,
For in time it will be too much to bear,
If I must pursue the dial in my wait.

Please find thy conceit and play for me true,
Lay this worrisome mind to rest in hope,
Thy song doth protest this bluest, my hue,
To see my world in a kaleidoscope.

I release my grip and watch moon’s revive,
High in our gaze a renaissance arrives.
