You had given us the gift of life
In which it is not needed for us to be on a strife,
For each one has his own identity
And we are all waiting for eternity.
For you have bestowed us the power
To choose, and to be free as a flower,
To be happy with the fewer,
And to bow our heads lower.
Thank you for the gift of laughter
That makes our hearts lighter;
Thank you for the power to understand,
And for guiding us with your holy hand.
Thank you for the power to speak
For the gift of love that we seek;
Thank you for the power to listen
To the feelings of our own brethren.
Thank you for the power to envision
The truth about our mission;
Thank you for the power to pray
And for leading us to the right way.
Thank you, Lord, for everything
As we use them in our living;
Thank you for creating us as special beings
And for imparting on us special things.
For you had given us
An earthly life that won’t last.
