Who will wait for me

Who will wait for me when all is said and done?
Who will wait for me if I don’t look for anyone?
Time won’t hold my hand, its a swimming coach in June
Pushing me down the line to the beat of its own tune
No more running just a pull
Family behind me, heart is full
Pacing my time like I have a say
Rationing the hours to slow down the day
Can I do this life right without breaking a heart?
Or have I already done that and don’t know?
Am I self-centered enough to hold mine apart
Enough to avoid the blow.
Have I really loved if not given fully?
My heart half empty half sleeping
Full of love till yester-year
When it went from happy to weeping.
