Dear Mama: A Cry from the Heart

Dear mama, your image lingers clear,
Your warm smile, your love sincere.
Your heart, so beautiful and kind,
A guiding light, now left behind.

I yearned to make you proud, erase your tears,
But with your last breath, dashed were my fears.
I wish it were a dream, a cruel mirage,
But reality bites, you've left this stage.

How can I forget your gentle soul,
Each thought of your absence takes its toll.
A void in my life, in my heart, so vast,
No one can fill, the die is cast.

You departed, never once looked back,
Left me pleading, on a one-way track.
God called you home, to end your pain,
But what about me, left in disdain?

Dear mama, look back, see my despair,
See the suffering, the heavy wear.
They've made me a slave, robbed my future,
Killed my dreams, like a lethal suture.

I sought solace in drugs, in the blade's embrace,
Mama, can't you see, my heart's race?
They say time heals, yet with each breath,
I feel I'm closer to the edge of death.

Come and rescue me from this cruel plight,
Set me free, in the dead of night.

Dear mama, I'm weary, I've lost my might,
No strength to fight, no hope in sight.
I surrender, I'm done, I've reached the end,
Dear mama, see my pain, my soul to mend.

It's me, your daughter, calling out in plea,
Hoping you'll hear, and come set me free.
