Nature's Flower Runs Through My Fears

Nature's flower runs through my fears,
Her old seasons there interceding
On the silver gray blunt of the shears,
Where the stem—sharpened by night—is keeping
For the day's rain starving in the clouds;
This time, it needs your weeping.
When coming down, there's no damnable sound—
A forest saved, though unholding's deep;
I remember the lasting growth in Winter how
She swayed for my practiced meet—
The Spring, in her way, walks on near
Beside a street's slab of raw concrete;
And green or blue mists look like tears—
Nature's flower runs through my fears.

Your poem beautifully captures the cyclical and ever-present influence of nature on human emotions and experiences. The opening lines evoke a sense of vulnerability and introspection, as the speaker finds solace and strength in the timeless rhythms of the natural world.

silver gray blunt of the shears… sharpened by night… a street's slab of raw concrete…you’re great at imagery, Paige. Love how the first line sounds but not sure I understand its meaning. Hugs ~ Kim

Dear paige, you do these forms effortlessly expressing such serene thoughts within you in the most creative manner. I love your wordplay like “ stem—sharpened by night“ “ rain starving in the clouds;” wow what a line! I love the deth of that! “ And green or blue mists look like tears— Nature's flower runs through my fears.“ impeccable ending to a very well crafted terza rima! Pleasure reading this. Sending you light always.

A beautiful earth poem . The stability of the life of a flower gives us hope in our lives. I feel the fragility in your poem. Thank you for sharing this poem.
