The Year I Had In Halls

Reminiscing of my first year in halls
A circular green surrounded by 25 front doors
Perfect for frisbee cartwheels and just chilling on your stoop
Everyone new everyone in this small rounded coop
But the first night we didn't and it was the holy freshers week
After the union we'd disperse to where the party was to be
At Number 12 lived a girl that quickly caught my eye
She studied fashion so you can imagine that she was pretty fine
I pretended to be the bouncer outside her student studded house
Standing with the smokers sipping tins and famous grouse
She came over and asked if I'd had any trouble tonight
I said it's been fine until now but I'm worried now I might
It took me three days from that point to gain the courage
For a kiss I'll reminisce about until the day that I am buried
The final night of freshers, a boat party on the thames
Signalled the end of our romance and the beginning of just friends
It hurt for a little while but the rest of the year we had a ball
A year I'll never forget is the year I had in halls
