The Trap

This is the home of the heartless
Corporate concrete
Where you become captive
To the same things you thought set you free
Where solutions to society's problems
Don't correct anything
Class is in session please pay attention
Only this moment and this mistake
Will be submitted as evidence of who you are
All your struggles & pain
Transcribed into the footnotes of a court case
The only lesson your gunna learn here is
How to answer questions on an auction block
Grindin for no reason because your not the one eating
You're being eaten.
Toe tagged by d.o.c. now your property
Something like livestock
Welcome to modern day slavery
Gavels slam and they call it justice
Testify to people who don't know you
Let them size you up and set your price
Based off things that you can't change
Isn't it crazy how a room full of people can determine your worth
Then auction you off with nothing to gain
I feel like a stranger to myself sometimes
Life on this side of the tracks can easily
Make you a victim of falling through cracks
I try to keep my hands clean
But no matter what I do I still get it out the mud
So i have dirt up to my knees and sometimes
My fingerprints are bloody
There is a reason they call this the trap
Dollar after dollar diggin your own grave
Someday soon those hundreds in your pocket
Won't be the only one between the two of you with a blue face
Vamp life not dead not alive
I just sold my bed and bought a coffin
Money doin backflips
Someone's mothers screams go unheard into police sirens
Someone please make the sound of these hollow tips go silent
This is what it sounds like when the streets are callin
Like an addict with an itch
Somewhere in between the cracks in concrete and
The stones in you're pocket
I pray you don't get lost reaching for the stars
Trying to get lost strapped to a glass rocket
Just trying to forget the pain
When you're feet hit the ground runnin
Don't turn back and end up here again
Welcome to the trap
This is a systematic set up
Designed intentionally with your struggle in mind
Privatised justice making profit off your pain
Another soldier lost in the system
I solute you my friend keep your chin up
Don't give up
One more good man down
Victim of he cant change
Trapped by statistics and stereotypes
Forcing you to become a product
Reflecting a person your not
A thing to be bought and chained to past mistakes
Sold to the highest bidder
A modern day slave
