Spit

Out, out you phlegm
stucked, caught my tongue, can not
untangle

from water turning into ice.
It was too quick I did not
have time to escape.

What are you saying?

Darling your name really hurts my throat.
Guttural obscene, the sound
clanging metal on metal, scraping
my spine

I unloose both feet and teeth.
You know lips

are really not for kisses.
They inevitably stick, sticky
together

from being speechless for too long.
Then the skin breaks,
eager

out comes sour breath;
your name.
