Copper's Hawk's Got His Eye On

We've seen the rattlesnakes
down by the treacherous creek.
Cooper's Hawk's got his eye on
salamanders singing in sunshine

down by the treacherous creek.
Golden finches flailing about,
salamanders singing in sunshine
gathering at the culvert ...

golden finches flailing about.
Ominous gray rain clouds hover
gathering at the culvert.
Now that it's raining--

ominous gray clouds hover
like a mighty, hungry Osprey.
Now that it's raining
leaves will be floating through and

like a mighty, hungry Osprey
Cooper's Hawk's got his eye on.
Leaves will be floating through and
we've seen the rattlesnakes.
