Can You Hear Me?

Can you hear me?
Why can’t you hear me?
The pain, the pain it’s so great – Can you not hear my cries?
That’s right, you can’t. It’s deep, deep, deep inside.
Sometimes it’s so loud – I can’t believe you don’t hear the whines, the groans,
the moans, and the sys.

Will it ever go away? Will it ever lessen?
I think not – it’s here to stay.

It has been deep inside me since my earliest memory.
Will someone ever hear my cry?
When I am alone it seems it’s worst.
When I am home - no one is there.

Not a pill, not a person, not a child, not a care.
No one, nor nothing can stop it from happening.
I think it will always be there.

I will not give up my search.
I search long and hard, deep and wide.
I will continue to search until the end of my time.

Can you hear me?
Why can’t you hear me?
If you just pay more attention you might be able to hear the agony of my existence.

Can you hear me?
Why can’t you hear me?
The pain, the pain it’s so great – Can you not hear my cries?
That’s right, you can’t. It’s deep, deep, deep inside.
