About me:
Hello everyone My name is Rhonda Hero welcome to my page. I am updating some very exciting news. I am engaged to be married April 6, 2013 to Bill Wilson. he is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am enrolled in college at Ohio State University Marion Branch, Marion, Ohio. I am studying and majoring in Psychology and English, I am wanting to work with children who have learning disabilities like myself. I am taking English to learn to write better. I am still rescuing cats and have a new kitten named Hoover. The Keeper keeps caring for them and finding homes. Bill is a cat lover and supports me 100%. I will be finishing in 8 days my first half of my freshman year. It has gone so fast. I have won several awards and have been published in Famous Poets of The Heartland. Three of my poems are published there. I contiune writing and hope to publish more soon.
I am a published poet and author. “She Has Awaken darkness to light” was released by Author-House in July 2010 http://www.authorhouse.com/. She Has Awaken is a compellation of poems about a little girl whose voice got silenced by the people who were supposed to protect her and love her the most. She lived in the darkness of shame, guilt and secrets of abuse then through many years of counseling she began to heal. The journey has not yet ended!
My poem “Someday” won an Editor’s Choice Award For Outstanding Contributions in Poetry from World Poetry Movement. It will be published in their anthology “Stars in Our Hearts,” which will be released in November 2011 http://www.worldpoetrymovement.com/. My poem “What If” took an Award of Excellence from Famous Poets and will be published in their anthology The Hearts of America http://www.famouspoets.com/
All my poems are true and heartfelt. Many of us never speak out about our abuse because as children our ‘voices’ are muted and we’re told never to tell. I hope my book will help others to find their voices. I am in the process of completing This Is Me handwritten poems mistakes and all Vol. I, which will be released ay Author-House in December 2011 http://www.authorhouse.com/.
I also write short stories and newspaper articles. Everything You Need to Know Autobiography of Rhonda K. Hero is an upcoming project I’m working on.
I am a member of The Humane Society of the United States, The National Humane Education Society and the ASPCA. In 2011, the ASPCA awarded me a Certificate of Appreciation for generously providing second chances and new lives for abused, abandoned and forgotten pets. I have two adult sons and four granddaughters ranging in age from 6 to 11 years old. They are the joys of my life! I reside in Ohio with my 3 Cats Lilly, Louis and Della May. I love it here!
