Feel Proud To Be Who You Are

Everyone hates me, I can feel it
I can see the look of despise in their eyes.
The way they snicker when I walk by
Gives an eerie feeling of shame to my inner self.

Hold your head up high little one
A look of despise is a look of jealousy
No need to feel so helpless
Feel proud to be who you are

A push into the depths of hatred
Reveals a cut to add to this shameful life
A giggle to my name
Reveals a heart being destroyed.

Hold your head up high little one
Don’t let them take you to the depths of hatred
No need to feel so helpless
Feel proud to be who you are.

Nasty rumors take flight through the air
Making a tear of loneliness slither down my face.
Slander written through pieces of literature
Creates a stabbing sensation through my already shattered heart.

Hold your head up high little one
Rumors are from those whom wish they were like you
No need to feel so helpless
Feel proud to be who you are.

My shattered heart can’t take anymore
I feel so still and lonely
My tears of hurt and anger fall no more
Because I have dried away the shame and despise.

Hold your head up high little one
Your shattered heart will soon start to heal.
No need to feel so helpless
Feel proud to be who you are.

I am holding my head high now
The jealousy now all makes sense
My heart is rebuilt and my inner self is starting to glow
I am PROUD to be who I am.

Hold your head high little one
I told you that time would heal the pain
No need to feel so helpless
Feel proud to be who you are.

Small Town Affairs

Good-natured towns notice the sultry climate,
As the pleasant townspeople smile and nod.
A friendly boatman resonates the harbour bells,
Alerting the crowd of the fresh caught cod.

A young couples laughter fills the sizzling heavens,
While discovering their new romance in the sand.
As the elderly mates clutch hands on the bench,
Listening to the harmony of the neighboring band.

The blazing sun pulsates warmth to the bustling beach,
While the offspring dabble in the refreshing lake.
Off in the distance a young boys kite soars in the breeze,
As an infant whimpers shyly when starting to awake.

The galling seagulls encircle above freely,
Awaiting the rapid plunge to a delicious snack.
While a boisterous shopkeeper retails fries,
From a nearby refurbished French fry shack.

Government's Blind Eye

Its supposed to be the way of life because that’s what we’ve been taught
But why in life do we have to wait for them to tell us how to live.
The take and take and never give back no matter what their intentions
Because as long as they are living well no one else seems to matter.

Money to them is just a game to play with dollar by dollar
But to us that hard earned cash is our way of life.
We give to them because that’s the law but never get any in return
Not knowing this before but knowing it now angers many of us to the core.

A man stands in front of the chromatic stone and waits to get his strength
If only one man, woman, or person had the courage maybe we could be helped.
One deep breath reassures him that time is still ticking, while a second deep
breath
Gives him the courage to start that walk of “fame” known to him as great success.

In one hand he hold a paper signed by almost five hundred persons
In the other a tape recorder hoping to get close enough for some answers.
He’s been in their shoes and wants to help but not knowing if it will work
A thumping heart beats inside his chest as he enters the front glass doors.

His glasses attached on top of his nose makes him feel like one of them
A barge through that door in front of him will change his entire life
He bangs the door without one thought or care because he knows he can’t loose
his courage
Slapping the petition down on the table and waiting without needless care.

A man in a grey suit jumps up with anger but before he is able to speak
The young man fixes his tie and leads on with one word said, “why?”
Without an answer the corporate man agrees to listen and sits back down in his
seat
The young citizen explains why he’s there and expects an answer before he
leaves.

An hour of dialogue runs to two, then three , then four, then five
But nothing seems to be accomplished because he’s talking to the blind eye.
He fights and fights in what he believes but the government seems not to care
So as this challenge ends he leaves in knowing that tomorrow is another day.

A Different Path

A young woman wanders down the street
Pondering her helpless situation called life.
She stops to stare at a big stone building without recognition
And wonders why there is no help to be found.

Her blank stare calls for some concern
As she ponders her protruding innocence slipping away.
A crowd of pedestrians walk by her without notice
With whispers and giggles as she stands in silence.

A smile arises as she sees a man approach the building
“I wonder what it took for him to accomplish this” she thinks.
As he walks by her and up the stairs she nods her head in acknowledgment
He does not take notice because she is not an approved citizen to him.

For years she’s worked and wanted nothing but this
A tear trickles down her cheek as she recollects her past.
No regrets have entered her mind as she wishes that she had done different
She thought her life was supposed to be an educational success.

The mere mention of her outdated look suggests otherwise
But she stands tall and knows that God as other intentions for her
Not knowing what they are and being frustrated with waiting
She takes in stride her continuous battle of society and walks on.

One last glance back reminds her of what she is now to do
She throws herself into the world that awaits
Knowing it will be a difficult challenge but realizes one thing
No one can take what you don’t let them.

Untamed Romance

The flickering flame illuminates a space
Inflating with an evolving seductive affair.
Two silhouette figures embraced in unison
Sashay across the antique rug with flair.

The crackling discord of the raging fire
Erupts a sudden energy of consuming passion.
Which encourages the commitment of two,
To harmonize as one in an alluring fashion.

An exhilarating discovery of the exposed frame
Conveys an irresistible line of desire.
Whisking the perplexed forms of sexuality
	And drowning into sweltering retire.

The serene and tranquil atmosphere set a disposition,
Of the endearing pair huddled below.
Developing into an innocent hallucination,
Of the subsequent romance to pursue or follow.

A peaceful glance seduces the comatose admirer
While the apprehensive heart departs the exotic spot.
And an embarrassed psyche toys a blissful notion,
Of a safeguard haven in juvenile thought.
