If Only

If only the sun is forever blue and bright
I will have the perfect tan I ever wanted
And the heart will glow as shiny as the face

If only the rain drops on the driest soil
resurrect the withering flowers and dying crops
Alongside nourishing the forgotten memories

If only the thunders and lightening’s sporadic visits
Not to intimidate the dogs and cats
But to awaken the dormant sensation

If only the sunset does not overplay its perfect beauty
mesmerize the already intoxicated lovers
That the ending of the day is not an anticlimax

Rather the norm of life

Trapping

Trapping

Like a mouse’s punishing scream in that damn trapping device
Like Charlotte’s web weaving her undying loyalty thousand threads over
Like Juliet vowing her love, drinking every drop of the fatal potion
Like a predator creeping behind his prey at the turn of every dark corner
Unfailingly we all fall victims to life’s trapping

Constructing your own traps as meeting your destiny
The dichotomy of inevitability
Sucking us into this dark hole of swirling water
Reducing life into a singular circular spiraling motion
A trap of no turning back
As life turns its back on us

Attachment, life’s excess baggage
Contains bliss and pain, in unequal measures
But then what’s living without heart shattering
In thousand pieces, every so often
and how can you call yourself a soldier without shedding a few bloods?
Or even a few tears?

Like a drowning child exhausting every limb of her body
Hastily catching the precious breath when her head, for mere seconds
Above the water
Before sinking and spiraling down further
Between every movement of sinking…she touches eternity

Secrets of the Himalaya

I whisper…
In a nearly inaudible voice
Softly but firmly… into your ears
The insatiable desires, the irreversible regrets, the off the limits dreams
the unspeakable aloneness.
So selfish of me
forcing you to embrace the sums of me
Into your extensive universe
Along with the immense weight of the secrets
Up the mountains and down the rivers
Oh, this unbearable cradle of burdens

The undulating figures of yours, contouring like the lovers’ naked bodies
Seductive, mystical, exhilarating, unsettling…
Soaring high in the sky
Spreading across to the world’s end
Then disappearing into these clouds of fluffiness
Clouds, as white as light as the whipping cream,
elegantly sitting above the mortal world, like a delicious layer cake.
Just when I thought I had lost you
You proudly stick your snow-capped heads up, up above the oceans of clouds
Longing to be admired, caressed and eventually conquered.

Now all that secrets
Infiltrating every pore, every limb, every vein of your bodies
My pulses, my spirits echo yours; and my heart, of course
There is no escape, one we are
Burying and interwinding life’s mystery into each other
For the thousand years to come.
Life born and reborn
Stories told and retold, lived and relived
Reincarnate into unrecognizable forms and shapes.
But I know somewhere and everywhere in these sacred mountains
Dotted with my hidden secrets
Secrets only shared by the occasional skeletons of the unlucky trekkers
Or a few random lost souls, here and there

Missing

Missing

She ran away
Carried no bags, uttered no words
Just an invisible soul
Travelling in foreign soils
Where strangers met and left
Mornings came and gone
No missing person reported
Only a missing soul

You can’t look for what was already absent
