Chhavi Gandhi Poem
I await something with my heart a pounding
What it is unclear but i feel a nagging doubting
There is a deathly silence in this space i fear
My demise is close i fear it’s so near
Where the oceans kiss crashes hopelessly apart
In the midst of this silence i fear my broken heart
As i enter the water the breeze envelops me
Calling my name and lovingly caressing me
I walk further in until i can bear it no longer
Some powerful force stubbornly pulls me to shore
I open my eyes to my eyes to see my heartbreaks cure
Oh how the silence has deepened into lyrics so pure
I am in heaven so serene i feel i am sure

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
Sitting upon the rocky outcrop,
Where the black eagle flies.
Your love for this land,
Burnt clearly in your eyes.
We heard a troop of baboons,
Although they could not be seen.
The yellow, winter highveld grass,
Was turning a virgin green.
You spoke of the rare wild leopard,
That roams the hills with grace.
Pride at your african heritage,
Etched so clearly on your face.
Now back in the the city,
Telephones and faxes screaming.
I long for the other life,
Where the birds are forever singing.
You let me into your secret world,
A beautiful, tranquil space.
Untouched by man or civilisation,
A very special place.

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
I hear the music of the heavenly angels
Coming softly through the blue sky from above
Blending with the music from on the mountain tops
Bringing to all earth's people messages of love.
The song birds are singing to the angels' music
Telling us to hear the words of truth very clear,
"All of earth's people are more alike than different
And to help each other will leave no room for fear".
Come listen to the music of quiet gentle breezes
And music from wild flowers growing on the hill
Whispering softly to awaken our spirits
Saying, "Only listen and let your hearts be still

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
Someday, when I landed on this Earth,
I found a person without whom I had no worth.
He was my identity, my reflection,
Who brought me up with true affection.
He was the one who gave me a name,
And with my sister he did the same.
All his life his tireless hands have worked for us,
And never has he made a little fuss.
He is my knowledge, my strength, my power, my model
He has always been my relief since the time I was in cradle.
Although I have troubled him sometimes,
But he loves me more than I love myself.
Although, I am a different person, but he knows me more than I know myself.
I cant say, in fact, it is a puzzle rather,
That whether Father is God or God is Father.

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
Those dedicated to our service forever,
Those are the part of our love and care.
Those have given us affection in an exquisite manner,
Those are none other than you lovely hands, so rare.
That is the difference between you and an angel,
An angel does magic with her wand so well.
And you just with your hands,
Make a heaven ou of hell.
Mommy dear, hats off to your hands,
So lovely, so fair.
May those divine hands be there upon you,
That are so kind so rare.

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
The world where I belonged to,
I closed my eyes.
I planned a journey to His place,
a decision wise.
A road I travelled,
with my virtues and goodwill.
Acceptance to the new world,
and a struggle to uphill.
This is not where I belong to,
still I made my way to His vicinity.
Neither a word of silence even,
Nor a sign of life in that 'hassle city' .
I sweat, I lose my breath,
I hardly have any strength left.
I never complain, I never cry,
And I still don't feel like being bereft.
At last, my real journey commenced,
And I found a sign board saying "HEAVEN"
But the Witty Master up there had other plans,
My soul smiled at Him as He said "It's not that easy one."
He glanced at me and closed the door,
since He had nothing much left to say.
Grew up praising Him in the other world as I was,
I remembered His lessons, and made a new way !!

Chhavi Gandhi Poem
Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me,
Starlight and dewdrops are waiting for thee;
Sounds of the rude world heard in the day,
Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away!
Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song,
List while I woo thee with soft melody;
Gone are the cares of life's busy throng.
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
Beautiful dreamer, out on the sea,
Mermaids are chaunting the wild lorelie;
Over the streamlet vapors are borne,
Waiting to fade at the bright coming morn.
Beautiful dreamer, beam on my heart,
E'en as the morn on the streamlet and sea;
Then will all clouds of sorrow depart,
Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me!
