Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Thoughts race through my mind
Spinning me round and round
Such an over whelming feeling at times
That I can hardly stand upright
And from weakness I fall
Reaching for a hand to hold
I stretch forth reaching Is anyone there?
Where are the arms to hold me close?
Will I pass through this time
And come out alright?
As I look into my Savior's eyes
I see His compassion
He reaches to me
The hand that I need reaches out
He lifts me up from my fall
Wipes the tears and binds the wounds
His gentle touch heals the heart
And brings strength to my soul
Smiles of love fill my spirit
Giving me hope for days to come
Always knowing He is there
Reaching for a hand to hold
I stretch forth reaching
To find His hand stretched toward mine
And His arms open wide

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Our aged among us need love, care and compassion
Not someone callous, lashing out at them with hostility
Someday you too will be so frail and weak
Is that the way you want your last days to be?
Consider yourself lucky to pass on at an early age
For you very well may get someone serving you with rage
I doubt seriously you could take what they are receiving
With endurance and strength their dear hearts endure
You’re not made of the stuff they are, not by far
For they worked hard, had compassion in all that they did
Your day will come soon enough for needing some help...
We will see you then, as you plead for attention ...
What goes around ... comes around ... Just remember that!!
As you lay in bed weeping, ‘what’d I do to deserve such treatment?’
You know who you are, and what it is that you do ...
A disgrace to humanity you have taken upon you!
I pray for the ones that are in your care
For they truly do not deserve at all to be there
They have given their lives way beyond your capability
And you cause them to live with such humility
Just get out! ... let someone else do the job
For many do care and are much more desired
You sicken me far beyond comprehension ...
Just leave now! ... before another life is forgotten!

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Commitment is ….. beautiful when you love somebody.
Commitment is giving something greater than yourself.
It is:
A promise: To Assure, Guarantee, Swear, Agree, Secure, Give your word
A pledge: A Promise, Oath, Word of honor
A vow: To Be determined, Declare, Undertake, Assert
It is:
Assurance, Dedication, Loyalty, Devotion, Steadfastness, Allegiance,
Faithfulness, Duty, Responsibility, Obligation
If, to the one you love, you cannot give commitment, then you have nothing to give.
God committed Himself to us, He gave of Himself, He gave Jesus.
Jesus then gave His All to us, He held nothing back.
He took the cross that was due us.
Was that commitment? I’d say it was … it was the Ultimate commitment!

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
As I sit thinking on You, Lord
My hearts breaks
When I realize how many times
I fail You.
I call upon You when in need.
Crying out to You when hurt.
But when do I ever sing to You
Just because I love You?
How can such a selfish being
Be so loved by You?
I am ashamed of what I do
And of how I am.
I long to do what makes
You proud.
I want to be a child ... You
Can be proud of.
Instead I am nothing more
Than a selfish wretch.
Forgive me Lord!
Change me Lord! Change me!

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Is it the buildings in which we gather, or is it the people which worship their
God? For if it is the people, then where ever they are is church. However, if it is
the building, it is nothing more than a building and it is lifeless. For Christ
preached mostly outdoors, where the people were, where life went on all around
them.
Jesus spoke in the Temple, to those that held ritual and tradition higher than
their God, and they heard nothing of what He had to say. But when He spoke to
the people where they were, they listened. They gathered and they listened. No
one told them to be silent in respect, they chose to be silent. For they hungered
after what Jesus had to say. For He was life and giving life in love. He did not
demand their silence, their silence demanded His words.
What do we do to encourage our church to grow? Do we bring life into our
church or is it empty of life? If we are the church, then we live and share life, love
and joy. If it is the building in which we meet, then what does it have to offer other
than shelter?
I am not being disgraceful in my questioning, I am wanting to know realistically,
what is the church? A building or the people?
I want to enjoy my gathering with the saints of God, to praise and worship our
Lord in joy and love. To feel His presence in our midst while we joyfully rejoice in
His presence. To do this, is it law that we enter silently and sit motionless
waiting for service to begin? What is so wrong in being glad to be in God’s
House and showing it by our glee and happiness?
Are we turning our church into the Temple that heard nothing said by Jesus? Or
are we the crowds of people sitting on the grounds outdoors, gathering and
crowding close so that we can hear His every word?
What is His church, the building or the people?

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Heap it on me Lord
let it rest on my shoulders
give them peace and restoration
heap it all on me
I cry their tears to give them rest
let me bare their burdens now
for You have given me the strength
to share in all their woes
So heap it on me Lord today
let Your spirit minister to them
with heartaches gone now
they can heal and listen to Your Word
I take this on for a season
for I too will need to rest
but now O Lord I take it
So You can do what’s best
So heap it on me Lord
give me the strength to carry all
the hurts, the heartaches, burdens strong
so they may carry on

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Keep you eyes on Jesus and not the world.
Satan lies about everything in God’s Word.
He uses tricks of the world to trap us or trick us.
So it is important to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.
Compromise isn’t good when it comes
To the teachings God’s Word.
God's Word is true and pure in deed
It brings life to all who will receive
However, we need a way to get the attention of others.
So how do we draw them to a place where
We have a chance to share God’s love
And His Word with them.
We need to get back to providing the basics to humanity.
The basics of love, care, and compassion.
Reaching out to one another regardless of differences.
Fill your eyes with God and that which is His Ways.
Jesus went where the people were.
He did not wait for them to come to where He was.
He was everything to everyone, as they had need.
Jesus was God’s Word made flesh.
He angered the pharasee’s because
He did not teach ritual or tradition ...
He taught of God and God’s love.
He is God’s Word in the flesh.
He made it real to all men.
He loved, taught and reached out
Regardless of any man or
Woman’s standing in society.

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
A proclamation was made one day, that each man return to his town of birth for
audit. So in obedience to God, Mary and Joseph left for their long journey.
Though she was heavy with child, and ready to deliver any day, still they went as
directed of God.
The trip was long and arduous, Mary was mournfully in pain. Joseph did what he
could to comfort her, but still the journey made her dread each step upon the
donkey that she rode.
When they had reached their destination and sought a place to stay, they were
told there was nothing and were continually turned away. Except for a kind in
keeper seeing Mary in distress, offered the only thing he had to give, a stable
where she could to rest.
In the stable Joseph gently laid her, to give her comfort from her long journey.
Making sure she had a soft place to lay, he warmed her and saw to her needs.
When the time was near she could hold her cries no longer. And in that moment
the heavens opened and a brilliant star came forth.
The cry of a new born filled the air, as Joseph so carefully wrapped him. Mary
held her new born son and look joyful with tears. As she fell asleep with him in
her arms.
As shepards watched their flocks that night, the star grew brighter still. They
wondered what could cause such a sight and followed where it lead.
From far across many lands, three kings of orient came, they followed the star to
where it lead, wanting to know what it would bring.
Upon their arrival to the humble abode where little Jesus lay, they knew in their
hearts that they were in the presence of the heavenly King of kings. Gifts they
brought to leave the child, each with a meaning not yet known. That night as
Angels sang in heaven, on earth most did not know.
But Jesus grew in strength and wisdom and shown of His Fathers love. He gave
us all a look at the face of our Father God. So we celebrate this birth each year,
not sure of month or day. We hold it in our heart so dear wanting never that it go
away.
So hold dear your loved ones and enemies too. For God sent His gift to all. That
we as sons and daughters may all experience His Glory and Awe.
I say to all with these words of praise, ‘Merry Christmas’, for Christ was born! He
is our greatest gift received from Heaven's Holy Throne.
Merry Christmas and God Bless!

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
Though my many belongings be now gone
My family members be scattered in distance and in heart
Illness has fallen upon my body holding me captive
In my heart ... deep within my soul
I cry out ... ‘All is well’
For I cannot count my thoughts as good
Nor my ways as upright
For God’s thoughts are higher, His ways are perfect
He is above all ... deep within my soul
I cry out ... ‘All is well’
For everything is the Lord’s
Thus I am also, therefore because I am His
He gets the first fruits of my love and life
In my heart ... deep within my soul
I cry out ... ‘All is well’

Bev Edwards - Walther Poem
The heart aches for it's loses
But the Spirit comforts pain
As we loose that which we love
God fills our heart where emptyness was
Look toward heaven for His touch
Then that sorrow fills you
He takes joy in giving us His Love and Comfort
Take comfort in His peace and assurance
