Fly High Little Angel

You fly high little angel
spread your wings and fly high
fly high little angel
reach your hands to the sky
got all of us asking ourselves why
you had to go so young
you were only five
now everytime we hear your name we'll want to cry
While staring up into the heavens throwing a Kiss to the sky
knowing your up there looking over us with that beautiful smile of yours
one that could lighten up every room
One that we all adored
we'll see you again one day babyboy
yeah we'll see you again one day
see you again one day babyboy
see you again one day
I catch myself crying each and every night
gripping my sheets and my covers tight
wishing you were here again id never let you out of my sight,
just wanting you here to hold tight
But knowing that your watching over our family
sometimes makes it just a little easier on me
and even though he took you before your time to go
you fly high little angel with your halo
Fly high little angel with your halo
this goes out to mat and brandi
and the rest of the shewmake family
can't forget the ones that are practically family
because you don't have to be blood to be ken to me
Another thing helping me cope at night
is closing my eyes and holding my hands together tight,
talking to him like I could see him in my sight
asking him if I'll ever be alright
right now id settle for just being ok
trying my best to make it through a day
where I'm not constantly wiping these tears away
asking all this as I pray
hoping he's listening to every word i say
knowing you'll be there waiting at the golden gates for me,
when it happens to be my time to leave
but for now cherishing every memory
till again you are reunited with me
just for now I'll have to let you go
so spread your wings and fly high little angel with your halo,
fly high little angel with your halo....

A Million Reasons To Why I Love You

There's over a million reasons to why I love you
I could tell you different reasons each and everyday
So please sit down this may take a few
Because I have something I would like to say
Everyday that I happen to wake up before you
I gaze at you with your closed eyes
For maybe just a moment or two
And everyday there's a new surprise
Whether you just crack a smile for me when your sleeping
Or the way drool falls from your mouth so preciously
When you're in your own land of dreaming
Is something I would love everyday to see
I would love for you to become my wife
So here I'll make this promise to you
To love you each and everyday of my life
And do the things a husband and father supposed to do
I'll take care of you when you're sick and don't feel well
Run you a bath when you've had a tough day
Tuck you in on nights you can't even tell
What the day even is today
Be the shoulder you'd want to cry on
When you just want someone to listen to you
Someone you know you can rely on
Who would never judge you for the things you do
Just offer a little guidence along the way
 If you're ever breaking down
I'll look over at you and say
 Baby turn that frown around
You're alot stronger than this and you know it
Suceeding in everything you put your mind too
And each and everyday girl you prove it
Giving me another reason to why I love you
Babygirl if there ever comes a day
When you think that I might have moved on
I'll look at you again and say
That your heart is where I know I belong

Devil In My Ear

I have the devil in my ear,
Saying he misses the old me,
It's his decisions that I fear,
So I have to take my next step cautiously,
Taking steps to become a better person,
Doing everything that I can,
With every mistake I learn my lesson,
With every choice I become a better man,
Trying to steer from his foolish ways,
He tries to get me to do things I don't want too,
Just taking it day by day,
Knowing just what I have to do,
If God gave us the choice to be anything we wanted to be,
Then why can't I take off these strains,
Trying to become a better me,
The devils still trying to take what remains,
Though I may have the devil in my ear,
I always have god in my head,
Showing me the direction to where I should steer,
To have eternal life when I'm dead,

Voice For the People

Lay me down so fast asleep.
Without a sound not even a peep.
Drifting deep into my dreams.
Leaving the world as it seems.
Maybe one day ill wake up to a better place.
A place that could wipe this frown from my face.
I dream of a world where we can all get along.
Stop all this b.s. fighting and just move on.
Yeah you and me may not be the same.
But acting out on your ways just puts a stereotype on our name.
Black, white, brown or yellow.
Our coffins are all the same size so its time to stay mellow.
If one puts his guns down others will follow,
Its time to stop packin all this heat.
Time to stop leaving people dead in the street.
Streets are hard enough without all them guns.
Kids getting shot while outside having fun.
Parents reminiscing about the good old days.
Where it was safe to send your kids outside to play.
Kids killing kids not caring about their age.
We need to stop the violence.
We need to stop the rage.
Just trying to be a voice for us all.
If we don't learn to stand together then we're bound to fall,
I say this all as one persons voice,
But in order to make a change you have to make a choice,
People out here dyin each and everyday,
Don't you think it's time to put them guns away,
Because maybe tomorrow won't be on your side,
Maybe one of your brothers or sisters didnt have the time to hide,
Now blast there gone in a drive by,
Now your standing there crying with your hand over your eyes,
You wanna get even but please use your head,
Because using them guns will just keep leaving another one dead.

Rip Grandpa

Joesph Benjamin Ballard was your name,
But I called you my Grandpa,
Might not of had a lot of money to your name,
You still walked with your head tall,
June 20th I heard the news,
Walking into that hospital,
I was so confused,
Feels like I just lost it all,
6:51am he decided to take you from me,
Even knowing that your gone, its still so hard to believe,
I've never had to live a day without you,
And now it's driving me insane,
It's not exactly easy to do,
With all of this pain running through my veins,
I always thought that you'd be here,
To watch my children grow,
Every time I think of you I shed a tear,
There's so many things now that you'll never know,
I didn't even have the time,
To say my good bye,
Wishing I could just press rewind,
All I can do now is stare up at the sky,
Knowing your right there with our family,
Makes it just a little easier to breathe,
Grandma wanted me to tell you that she misses you,
Day after day,
Praying she could have just told you I love you,
One more time before you went away,
You can see it in her eyes,
Its like she died a little inside,
But that would be no surprise,
For your love was her guide,

Stress Levels On Max

Stress levels on max,
110 percent no time to relax,
He's got so many things going through his brain,
That the average man would simply go insane,
Slices on his wrist to try and ignore the pain,
But day after day it still remains the same,
They say that everything happens for a reason,
But if that was the case then he'd have no reason for breathin,
Closes his eyes and tries to take away all of his pain today,
When he feels someone take that gun away,
Hears the voice of his best friend start to say,
It isn't worth all this I can promise you that man,
We can all see that your doing the best you can,
And everything really does happen for a reason,
There was a reason I was here and a reason your still breathin,
No the pain doesn't simply just go away,
But it'll hopefully get a little easier day after day,
When you wake up a year from now remember these words I say,
If it'll help you to get through another day,

Taking a Stand

I can see you hurting
and those pills you take just aint working
you always put yourself down
when you walk you face the ground
the scars on your wrist are so clear
its everyone elses thoughts that you fear
when people look you look away
you dont want them to see you this way
when you get home all you can do is cry
while putting the razor to your skin wondering why
how anyone can do what they did
you used to be a kind and innocent kid
until they tore you apart
like putting a needle through an already broken heart
but i promise times will get better
youll get through this stormy weather
and shine brighter than the sun
and forget all the things that theyve done
because theres always gonna be a brighter day
when you face the sky and start to say
it doesnt matter what they did too me
im gonna be the person i was meant to be
show them all that i can
overcome all the pain
and take a stand

Broken Expectations

Broken Promises
You said that you wouldn't do this to me
But now you say you are done
While I sit here alone with our baby
You're still out there having fun
Yet you said you wanted to be in his life
Said you wanted to be a dad
Gave me a ring calling me your future wife
Then you had to give up everything we had
Because I caught you with another girl
Yet you were steady making up a lie
Told us we was your whole world
But It's like you keep passing us by
Because theres always going to be another thing
That interest you more than we do
So here I give you back this ring
Until you figure out what you're supposed to do
You'll realize this when she's gone
And you start wanting Me and your son
Too bad we've already moved on
While you were still out there having fun

America We Have a Problem

America we have a problem
I just wish that we could solve them
We have poverty in our own land
Can't even put food into our own hand
We used to be a country
The land of the free
United we stand divided we fall
But that's not how it feels to us all
Foreigners coming each and every way
Granted citizenship every day
Givin a job, land, and a home
With seven years free to roam
But we can't take care of our own
We have people here without a home
We're supposed to abide by our government
But what do they do for us
Tell us that we have to listen just because
I don't know if its just me
But in this land I no longer feel so free

Addiction

ADDICTION...
The hardest part is knowing that your better than this shit
The hardest part is wanting everyday to quit
The hardest part is every time that your around it
Your mind is constantly trying to tell you to take a hit
With every hit pulling me further from sobriety
It's like something else has taken control of me
Never thought I'd be here right now
Don't know how I got here but i have to change it somehow
There has to be another way
 To find another day
Where I can just put it down and walk away
Because day after day it's slowly killing me
sometimes making it harder to breathe
With every hit feeling the rush flow through your veins
With every hit taking a part of you that should remain
People are always asking If your ok
But your constantly just pushing them away
With hit after hit pulling you down
You slowly start to not come around
Nowadays questioning everything you do
Because you still remember a time when this wasn't you...
