Dada

i call you dada
yes you are my sister
though we are not related
your attitude concerns me
and you don't seem to care
because that's what you are
dada,my sister
that's no way for an african beauty to behave
hanging around bars and pubs
waiting on men to buy you drinks
i call you dada
that's swahili
it means sister
dada,have you ever wondered
why they call you malaya?
change your ways dada
i urge you
get a job
if you wanna make a life for yourself.

Mwalimu

i reminisce on the day you passed
our starlight dimmed and flickered
some sang
morning came
days,weeks passed
and those that were on the frontline
forgot
songs didn't cease
but actions proved wrong

now it's been 10 years
they mock at your memory
my people keep on gettin poor.

The Unknown

we fear
its existence
and sometimes we try to ignore it
but it's still there
causing us nightmares
for some it's not that negative
they are enthusiastic about it all
making them dream
such people have made it
and their generations always strive
to prosper.

Plunders and Looters

they plunder and loot
the fruits of the founding fathers of this nation
they think what we know
is just what they they choose to tell us.

Today

i don't feel like writing a love poem
i used to think it's a writer's block
but it ain't
my people are caught up in angst
and trapped in a maze
can't just look and smile
like my president does
they say it's phobia
and there ain't nothing to worry about
but then they steal
and mock at our so called hospitality
i will never write about love
cuz am just not feeling it
today!!

Come Into My Room

come into my room
my african queen
wear that gown that makes you look like queen Nzinga Mbande
do the things that will make me
remember what i read in the books about Cleopatra
as soon as i look into your eyes
the moment you come into my room
your eyes exorcise the demons out of me
you are that milk that was good for my health
as a child growing up
though my mama forced me to take that milk
i reminisce,you are all that i need
to calm my nerves
come into my room
give me that inspiration to write
of my joy and happiness
no more sorrow and sadness
many who read my poems sure know
what it is that i'm talking about
come into my room.

Innocent Shorty

i keep secrets from her
'cuz she cannot understand
what it's like to be me
everything is perfect in her world
so i spare her my crazy world's crap
that includes my gangster poetry
lest i loose her for good
my innocent shorty

There U Go

conspire with my foes
trying to analyse me
labelling me badass
thinkin i'd shed a tear again
baby,what happened?
u were a sweet little girl
the day we met
i thought u'd grow into a lady
so i waited
there you go baby
i gotta let you live
so you've been telling me.

Ivan

she gave me a call
Seconds after she pulled u outta her womb,
Ur mum is the greatest woman alive
So we named u ivan, our gift
From the Great Spirit,GOD that is.
