Nubian Queen

I know a woman whom resembles a Queen
Her eloquent features inspire me
A mellow song she sings with her voice
And radiant eyes to give a heavy dose

I know a woman who appeals to me
Her slender build so graceful to see
A walk with poise, style and dexterity
A gentle aura so simple she seems

I know this woman as a Nubian Queen
Yet I love her dearly for she is simplicity
Her strength and courage I praise indeed
For I will always stand by you my Nubian Queen

Listen To the Voices

Open your ears, listen with your heart
To defenseless voices screaming in the dark
Hear the hollow sounds of battered children
Crying helplessly in their fright

A continuous nightmare of bruised anatomies
Scarred memories
Lasting for the rest of their lives
And broken spirits innocent children must bear
Listen closely if you care
To countless voices crying in agony

Infliction of pain
In various increments and range
Neglected lives thrown away
Deviated acts of molestation
Torture running rampant throughout every vein
Committed by sick minds of the insane

Listen to the lonely voices
Defenseless children crying from narrow closets
Where darkness mutilate guiltiness souls
Open a window in your heart and listen
As a society we must shoulder the blame

Enchanted Garden

There exist a place within this world
Where nature forever sings with joy
Where virgin soil holds the seed
To reproduce the virtuous fruit
Totally free from disease

A rising sun at early dawn
The perfume fragrance of palm leaves
Hummingbirds and creeping squirrels
Echo musical sounds in perpetual harmony

Rivers and streams, known as the Euphrates
Sounds familiar to me
An Enchanted Garden, An archaic place
Existing before Adam and Eve

I prey this place still exist
Pure of modern greed
It's virgin soil would still
Possess the seed
To rid the world of poverty, pollution
and disease

The True Dream

What does it mean to succeed
To obtain material things
While neglecting the true dream
Which is most important to me

What does it mean to grow
To gain knowledge for occupational skills
Or creative thinking for an everlasting thrill
Does it take a wise man to know

What will give me self esteem
To create a socially acceptable image for all to see
Or try to get by just being me
Or is it somewhere in between

For self glorification seems short sighted, do you agree
Well, I still envision the true dream
A world where creative knowledge grows on tress
With everlasting wisdom to set mankind free

The Perfect Dream

Imagine a life of ceaseless tranquility
In a chaotic world filled with hatred and sin
Your conscience free from uncertainty
Through the wisdom you comprehend

Imagine a life lived in perfection
Amidst unsavory elements and social disease
Your heart will continually find rejection
From deception which others choose to believe

Imagine life's greatest achievement
With all the adversity one must overcome
Your psyche will discover lasting fulfillment
After all is said and done

Through devotion to values of righteous living
And striving diligently to achieve your goals
You will feel exuberance forever flowing
Through every cell which inhabits your soul

A Love Worth Waiting

Dearly beloved sunflower so precious to me
I have seen your beauty radiate amongst the stars
An angelic spirit spreading her wings
Soaring through the cosmos with out stretched arms
Softly humming serene melodies

I have awaited countless days and many moons
Through intervals of sunshine and rain
Faithfully believing true love will appear in my view
I feel her presence constantly flowing in my veins

I have seen your reflection bathing in lily ponds
Flaunting vibrant brilliance that glows
For these are moments to fictionalize an eternal bond
Rapture intersecting our souls

Oh precious sunflower
Fasten me onto your glistening violet wings
With the crescent moon in our sight
Let us ascend unto a blissful flight
Singing in unison continuous melodies

Faces In the Night

I see many faces appearing in the night
Societies outcast oblivious to perils
which accompany their plight
Dressed in dingy costumes, Masquerading as
Creatures weary of a painful life
Sleeping in desolate quarters
Oh what a hellish sight

I see familiar faces emerging from the dark
A talented musician unable to
Profit from his outmoded art
A woman of withered countenance knowing only
Sorrow and misery which encompass her heart
A wandering squatter
Deemed unfit by society to play a part

I have seen the faces that occupy the night
Hearing their voices their struggle
For an essential right
A chance to survive the cruel frigid night
For the homeless survival is an endless fight

A Viewpoint of Man

There are numerous theories of the origin of man
Opposing viewpoints on how he began
Perhaps through evolutionary stages man evolved from the chimpanzee
Carelessly swinging on parch branches of his family tree

Or by way of Yahweh's omnipotent hand
Created in God's image woman and man
To have dominion over all living things
According to the parable of Adam and Eve

History has chronicled the rise and fall
Of a faithless species disobedient to civilized law
Seeking to answer where he has gone wrong
Man continues to erect a self serving image to conceal his flaws

The present condition of the human race
Steep in confusion and rising at a dangerous pace
Returning to our original debate
I ponder if man is a creation of a supreme being
Or, a befuddled creature of lower intellect than the chimpanzee

Just An Old Fable

Have you ever heard of an old fable
About a rich man who lived by the seashore
Who dwelled lavishly in his luxurious castle
Enhanced by stained tinted windows and marble doors

How drank merrily from goblets filled with iniquity
Of wealth swindled from peasants and craftsmen, illiterate and uninformed
Concealing his transgressions behind the cloak of nobility
Laughing gleefully in victory in the face of the Lord

Then morning appeared without sunshine and a sudden violent storm
Submerging the rich man's castle beneath the muck of his crimes
Drowning him in his iniquities at the mighty hand of the Lord

Have you ever heard of this fable
Of how a rich man earned his label
Living lavishly on diabolic deeds
Dying painfully in his greed
Truly this story has a message that every man should heed
