Little Diddy

Your judged by the company you keep

And In who's feelings you'll steep

But it is of importance

If you're a conformist

Just to who's side you'll leap

Always trust in the feelings of your heart

Though they don't always seem that smart

But if you can check

These feelings on deck

You'll wind up with a much better part

I know it sounds funny even a little strange

People might think I'm slightly deranged

But the lyric of the poem

Hits so close to home

Like your thoughts I'll somehow detain

It started with something and ended with nil

As I struggle with these words to fill

In this little ditty

As my mind is giddy

But after this verse it grew still

Figures of Speech

Birds of a feather
Here's mud in your eye
Change like the weather
What money can't buy
Right as rain
Picking a bone
I can't complain
Dumb as a stone
Chewing the rag
We're in the same boat
It's in the bag
Frog in your throat
When push comes to shove
Out of your gourd
As white as a dove
Praise the Lord
Life's a beach
Potty train
These are figures of speech
Attacking my brain
Stubbed your toe
Peace of mind
Wouldn't you know
Two of a kind
Piece of shit
High as a kite
Get off the tit
She's outta sight
Up yours
Thing of the past
The great outdoors
Built to last
Cut the chord
Rain off a duck
Sharp as a sword
Pass the buck
Light as a feather
Wouldn't you know it
Under the weather
I knew you'd blow it

Universal Law

Compassion is the key
To love and understand
Always do for others
All that you can
Helping someone brings contentment
Into each of our lives
With this small act of kindness
It's karma that it buys
You must believe in your heart
This very simple Claus
Or your life will be crushed
By universal laws
Expand your thoughts
On cause and affect
Don't let it be yours
Who's life will be wrecked
Not made by man
But the supreme
Just open your eyes
You'll see what I mean
Everything comes full circle
To each and his own
And it's all up to you
How to the world you'll be known

That Offends Me

Why In the world

Must everyone lie

The major religions

Even government can't deny

The need for deception

Is really that great

To hurt all the people

Cause everyone to hate

The demise of the intellect

At the top of the list

Let's protest everything

To this we insist

But this will solve nothing

As we all shall learn

Our president is kind

But also quite stern

Do yourself a favor

Instead of Inciting a mob

Take care of your children

Maybe go get a job

Me Myself and I

Hello my friend and welcome
To the theatre of my mind
Where thought are in abundance
It's peace and love you'll find
I've learned through repetition
That good will always bring good
There's a part within our minds
We can sharpen when understood
It's been stated in the Bible
And in many books of lore
Every thought starts with a seed
It must be honorable, that's for sure
If it is not, you will soon see
Thoughts and deeds seek their own kind
But it's too late when you notice
And to the undesirable you will bind
That's the wrong path to take
I tell you because you will find
A life of trouble and much unrest
Has all started within your mind

Faith In Ourselves

The matter of faith
That people hold dear
Should bring us together
Make our thoughts clear
But through separate religions
And the personality trait
It just causes conflicts
And makes us hate
For the sake of us all
To all pray to God
It doesn't matter his name
It's on his earth we trod
Through kindness and understanding
Let's make this world work
Not through oppression and wars
Let's make love the perk
We can all live together
In the name of love
That's what we should do
When push comes to shove

Insanity Rules

Insanity rules

The world at hand

All the politicians Know

It's the law of the land

They promise us this

And promise us that

We work our lives away

Their bank accounts get fat

This is supposed democracy

The great American way

But it really is a game

Politicians know how to play

They really are like insects

Watch out for the stinger

All they really want for us

Is to stay under their finger

The election was like a circus

Complete with a big ol clown

The only thing that was missing

Was the silly carnival sound

Is this what we've come to

We're always treated as fools

Cause when the politicians speak

We know insanity rules

The Flame of Anger

No one can deal with feelings
The emotional turmoil inside
Somehow the brain stops working
This is just how it replied
Our mind jumps to conclusions
We fabricate all too fast
Even though our minds are biased
It's a feeling we can't get past
Consumed by the flame of anger
Sometimes we rant and rave
It's like the road to insanity
That with our anger we pave
I had these feelings all my life
I studied them inside and out
They truly are a waste of effort
Take it from me, without a doubt
Time is too precious to waste like this
Our feelings offer no compensation
Now amdays I live my life
Through prayer and meditation

Ballad of Anger

With hatred In my heart

A good Insult in my brain

I'm so comfortable with anger

It's really hard to abstain

It knaws at my spirit

Controlling my very being

How it hurts me inside

Is what I'm not seeing

A true waste of time

And energy at that

People's feelings the ball

My vengeance the bat

What does this accomplish

At this time today

Because of these feelings

At some time I'll pay

With my frame of mind

And stillness of heart

Today I'll concentrate

And vow to make a start

To treat people better

As I'd have done to me

And one day my spirit

From anger will be free

Atlas Here's the Problem

Everything starts in our head

The possibilities never end

When thoughts mix with emotions

That's when they start to bend

Most times it starts out good

But ends with what we crave

Our thoughts spiral out of control

We're lucky we're not in the grave

This formula can be applied

To all levels of thought

That happen throughout our life

In our own trap we're cought

Though self serving

Most of the time

Our imagination's the box

And we are the mime

Through self discovery

Looking deep within

Atlas here's the problem

Of course it's sin

The life of contrition

Has now come to you

The balls in your court

Choose well what you do

God will have his way

Doesn't matter your thought

I suggest pray everyday

Follow what God taught
