Fully Grounded and Yet Fly

In the annals of our history, hovers the question of how to be
Our definition of success we learn, defines those possibilities
I absorb from birth, and all through life, things not allowed to seek;
But to yearn to have, so learn to earn; and earn until it comes to me
And left to search with ought hope to find my nature’s relativity
This is not the happiness I sought; and yet fear to lose what’s come to seed

I’ve no need to forfeit happiness, to find a different kind.
Best not cling on to yester-thoughts, if I want to change my mind.
Doesn’t help to leave my head in charge, of finding my heart inside.
Still, it’s up to no one other; but to each, his own humble scribe.
Since time untold the Universe unfolds, ..and time will abide.
The only matter left to test is simply, yes or no, - “Will I?”

But, to feel fully grounded; and yet with wings and fly;
Is this not the thing which we all seek; aspire to the sky?
Now, I can see that I believed what someone else had said;
It’s not always how it’s said, but rather, - fateful how it’s read.
That behind; I open mine eye; I open up my heart and sigh;
And with all confidence and grace, I now may spread my wings and fly.

Now with all confidence and grace; Now, I spread my wings and fly.

Yet Storms Without

Without feet firmly planted on the earth
One becomes subject to the whim
Of the winds’ free flow
No choice, nary chance to stop
The eternal dance of life
Without the sense of Floor

Without our head/ spirit in the sky
Upright, alert, and peering forward and wide
We can lose sight of the valent reality
The invisible present which surrounds
The sacred space wherein we grow
In which our common presence abounds

Without Love and Compassion
Resident in our Heart
We have no compass,
And only arbitrary direction
Yet storms will still occur
In the air, on the ground,
And within connection

Take in stock the air, the ground, the things unseen
Know not fear, rather rely on that as we know in deed;
 Just as we live, we live out our chosen dream
