Walk With Me

We are brothers but we are fallen
As close as we are its too far apart
But grateful I forever will be
That we shared the journey at the start
Our paths looking promising to rejoin
And bring back what should be
But life has cut short and left the wound to bleed
I miss what was and hurt with what would have been
We did not choose this path and could not see
For when people are young they are foolish
As those before us have seen
We must now go on with only the memory
I'm honoured to be your brother
To be able to call you family
I will continue my path with this intent
To rejoin those connections
I regret to say so much time has been spent
I have sorrow and anger laid at my feet
For brother we have much catching up to do
When we next meet
