Imprints of My Heart

Your in Heaven 'Rest In Peace', Free of pain and in a better place.
Just remember your not forgotten, no one could ever forget your beautiful face.
Your part of our family, that's why its so hard to let you go.
Your irreplaceable, just thought that you should know.
So many sleepless nights I think of you, thought this pain would be over.
Then I remember the good times we shared, you always been my 4-leaf-clover.
Don't think this is good bye because I know one day will be together.
I think of you day and night, on the phone and in the shower.
I know your taking care of Kane, playing day and night until forever.
At least your not alone, your in doggy heaven with each other.
Your my family and my best-est friend.
I'm lost in sadness, but ill miss you til the end.
You never judge and your a great listener that always seemed to understand.
So I always gave you the very best treats and food, always gave you top brand.
You and Kane were both unique, in my eyes a real person.
If I was hurt you were always there to lick it so it wouldn't worsen.
If dogs could get a medal yours would read 'Mother/Daughter #1.'
Or maybe a family dog show you would be the mom and son that would won.
Those sad and lonely days you were always there to comfort me.
That's what makes you so special
Unforgettable and brought out the best in me.
Life for me will never be the same, because we are apart.
But your everlasting love has left you imprinted in my heart.
                                                                                       Joanna

Truckers Life

I'm a trucker all day with long days ahead,
Working all through the night, while your asleep in your bed.
Before I can leave I inspect, check then go,
Everything seems good except my fluids seem low.
I hop in the cab, no time I can wait,
If deadlines are missed then there goes my freight and wage rate.
I stress about the road, my family and daily troubles,
While worried about my wife and all her daily struggles.
Few hours have gone, things couldn't be more wrong,
On these days I know my day will be a long one.
Should have known those fluids were too low when I left the compound,
Now a techs on his way to fix my mess so I can continue eastward bound.
As he starts the semi he realizes we have an even bigger mess,
I forgot to release the drain-cock and now shes full of moisture and in distress.
When its all said and done and im back on track with my load,
Trying to catch up with speed on the cold windy road.
With my windows rolled down and music on five,
Making sure I stay awake to keep me alive.
The worst part of my day is not knowing whats next,
because when one thing goes wrong its like a domino effect.
I try to do my very best to make the most of my time away,
If I don't then I might as well be at home with a normal 9 to 5 work day.
So many days I'm gone for so long,
Those days I know I have to be strong.
Without a trucker there be no food in our tummies,
No houses or clothes, society would all become dummies.
I miss them more today then yesterday but not as much as tomorrow,
I know all the risks, so i count the days til this trip is over.
To the compound I go, my last load is finally done,
I can finally go home, life has finally begun.
Life of a trucker has many cons but some pros,
You lose sleep, meals and miss loved ones but your pay always grows.
I shed a tear when I see her standing there, waiting for me,
Realizing how much I missed her and the whole family.

The Storm

Warm air throughout the day begins to rise admits the clouds
Brewing more within each second, til it releases a few drops to the ground
The Storm at hand has brought about some moving warm air below
A sudden change to cold succeeds to make the wind start to blow
Leaves behind a scent that we all know as earth, water and trees
Humidity has gone wild, which makes it hard to breathe
An illuminating charge creates a spark, we see it as a light form
Travelling through a channel which then creates the light of the storm
A sense of calm throughout the sky's, yet seconds later its out for more
The channel disappears and lets you know with a frightening roar
Never think its over because its far from over and still got more
Were surrounded by dark grey clouds, all you can think is its gonna pour
Clouds are now more threatening, any second you know they'll burst
The pressures creeping higher, its about to show the worst
Clouds are faster and its darker they have no interest to say good bye
They built up all those droplets, even the wind froze them in the sky
Pressures at its peak now, there to heavy so now they fall
What is known as hail has dropped, looks like a frozen water ball
Much prettier at a distance, but destruction is all it knows
Never to understand that your car just came with meeting all your goals
All of a sudden out of nowhere it goes silent, the sun comes out again
The relief you feel to know its over and the day can finally begin
We take a picture to remind us of such beauty we all see
But in a flash that moments gone as if you just got stung by a bee
So we remind ourselves that beauty isn't always as it is
But we take a chance on it because we get a picture just like this.

Capturing Moments

Pictures they capture our moments in life,
like the moment you marry your husband or wife.
They help relive those memories like a story,
to capture our hearts or revisit OLD history.
A picture could be that of a loved one,
someone you've lost or alive and well son.
Remembering those last words to you were “I Love You”,
you carry there picture, knowing they will always guide you too.
The memories you have live on within us,
emotions can become real through a picture we trust.
Sometimes a picture is a memory we erase,
throughout life we make new memories to fill that space.
Or the precious moments we have throughout time,
With Social Media and News its a nice break from all the war and crime.
Like to see the moon at its brightest light,
or a clear night of stars that twinkle in the night.
Maybe the suns going down leaving that crimson sky,
you capture these moments without needing a reason why.
You can guarantee a picture wont let you down,
showing you its meaning without any sound.
Only to capture the truth, what you see is what you get,
like a card game, when you see your cards you place your bet.
Few moments later all bets are done,
then show those cards to see who won.
You check in close while Antes go up,
you hope to see and play their bluff.
To capture a storm on that beautiful day,
as the clouds roll in with the darkest of grey.
You capture the brewings of the aftermath,
outside your house along the garden path.
From your baby's first steps to marrying your soulmate,
with all this who knew pictures could be that great!

Second Part a Truckers Wife

When im upset and full of worry you create a sense of ease,
I'll put those darker days behind me knowing good always comes in threes.
There's a strength you bring out in me that helps me when im stressed,
You always knew how to bring out my very best.
Your humor and excitement that keeps me on my toes,
Your always there to help me when im at a high or in my lows.
Your trust in me gives me that hope,
An everlasting strength to grieve when i need to cope.
Many people I've known have come and gone but you your always there,
Even those days when it gets way to rough and life gets hard to bare.
Just think, your the one that makes those days worth fighting for,
when I'm sad you make me laugh, life with you is never a bore.
So no matter the distance, ill be with you no matter what,
We have overcome many challenges, think of this as a small rut.
My life can never be complete unless i have you in my life,
I look forward to the future and longer, by your side as your wife.
The bad times we endured made our love that much stronger,
So with that on my mind, i know we'll make it that much longer.
Just know i am like this for many good reasons,
Realizing I could lose you, lose myself or not see you for so many seasons.
But the love we share comes with compromise and understanding,
You think I'm being selfish and very demanding.
When your out there i think the worst then in comes my anxiety,
The pills can only help for so long but i guess I'm not much help on disability
I wish i was normal, as in none of my issues,
It would save on our fights, medications and tissues.
That's the problem you have when you love someone like me,
How do you think i feel, i have a full on degree.
I'm writing you this, to make you feel better I hope,
All i want from you is Love, A Family, Happy Future and to Elope.
I want you to know I am happy with you,
We've gone through bad times, we'll get through this one too.
Just remember, this is only the beginning of the rest of our lives,
So keep on trucking, be safe, please don't die because we need you alive!
                                                                                               Joanna
