Surreal Bad Hair Day

I stare in the mirror with fear on my face
So late for work my heart starts to race
I move the old brush, striving for perfection
As I gaze in horror at this shambling reflection
Each move of the hand makes it look worse
I am in need of a stylist or possibly a hearse
I squirt on some gel and it hits the mark
I turn on the dryer and out shoots a spark
I run all around with my hair quite ablaze
While it looks very hot it will be no new craze
I search for some water and instead I find cheese
I find this quite odd as I pant and I wheeze
I glance at my hair and it appears to be fur
But it did not before, of this I am sure
I begin to wake up, things start to come clear
I can see plainly how I had nothing to fear
Now it makes sense, things are not as they seem
Isn't it strange of what an animal can dream?

Sandra's Poem

Some people will count the days by minutes and hours
I spend it thinking of you in a field full of flowers
I can see the look on your face and the wind in your hair
And I think upon ways to go from this place and to there
The sun begins to set as you wait in that place
My view becomes dim and my heart starts to race
Just one last glimpse and I think I will say
That now I can smile, and wait through the day.

One More Day.

I had known from the start
we could not be apart

for if so...

The sky would be dim, and life become grim
The pain dances freely, that is it's whim.

and so...

I sit in this place, and consider a fate
Is there redemption or is it to late?

and then...

I see that last light, the spark in the night
Is it you or one more last fright?

and i see...

You were always there, you heard all my cries
I just needed to look and to open my eyes.

Unwelcome Night

The light casts a shadow against the far wall
As once more i await the darkness to fall
The air starts to chill, a mist settles in
The ground becomes cold as the candle burns thin
So here i sit and await a new day
Remembering how it was not always this way
There was a time with you at my side
With you next to me, the sun could not hide
We took on the world, and made it our toy
We did what we wanted, no end to the joy
But that is the past, your now far away
I cant hear your voice, i know not what you say
All i have left, besides the memories we shared
Is an image of you, and knowing you cared

The Knife

Here I sit , alone on the beach
There is the knife, just out of reach
A tear rolls down my face The rain starts to fall
I am filled with disgrace No one answers my call
The tide rushes in, pushing the knife
Closer to me, thus farther from life
look how far I have fell
To flee from this hell
And I wonder this day
If I was heard when I say
.....Goodbye!
