Yesterday

Yesterday we were alive, young, and free
Laughing and dancing like the wind and sea
Yesterday we were young, foolish and ignorant
Not caring slightly for what was important

Somehow we thought our friendship was the blast
So we never realized that we were known as outcasts
We were so involved in our own little world
That we did not realize our friendship was like fools gold
It was golden, wonderful, and surreal
It was anything but the real deal

We laughed, gossip and talked
Hand in hand through the hallway we would walk
All of our little secrets we would share
All of our insecurities and all our fears

Today I am sad, alone and betrayed
To learn that our friendship was nothing but a facade
Today I am older, wiser and stronger
But I wish our friendship would last just a little bit longer

I often like to sit down and analyse what we have become
And it hurts my heart to see that we are no longer are one
Sadly I must accept all of our times together are done

But no worry tomorrow is another day
Maybe someone else will decide to come my way
But until then I will relish our memories of yesterday

A Darkened Night

A darkened night
Tonight she's out
She stares at darkened waters
Her gaze never wanders
She stares at her soul
Her mind, her heart
Oh how they seems dark
She reaches to touch
Her thoughts a whirlwind
Silent tears, never to be seen
Falls slowly, she feels insane

Petal by petal she drops in flowers
So white, they stay there, laying in waters
She gathers her dress
She has done her best
She feels a new surge of strength
She lifts her head
And walks homestead
For life, no Matter what, goes on
And death, can claim its victims to soon

Beautiful Warrior

Her walk
Her talk
Her hair
So fair
Her skin
The wind
Her kiss
Raw bliss

She is beautiful
With lips so full
But yet she sees not
The beauty she's got
She shy
Insecure
But yet she's much, more
A hero
A survivor
And at times a good provider
She's afraid
She's brave
She's toxic
She's exotic
She's weak
She's strong
She's right
She's wrong
She's here
She's there
She's everywhere
My heart
My mind
My soul
She's a warrior
Who's worth is far above gold
Bet yet her story has yet to be told.

Death By Pride

A deadly sin
A steady win
Pride is a poison that makes one blind
And is often a burden to carry on a climb
It kills, destroys and may often leave one unemployed
Pride, so many lives it has destroyed

Hope

A northern light
A starlit night
A silver flower
A determined fighter
As the plant grows in my soul
It shouldn’t be there, yet it holds
A new surge of strength grows inside, I feel faint
Before I know it, it begins
Casting all fears aside
It can hurt me, disappoint me, or
even manipulate me
But it grows
It is determined to have its way
So my body, in turn just obey
Hope takes over, a deadly sin
For when it starts it never ends.

Save Me

Save me, oh, save me
Don't you see I'm hurting?
Save me, oh, save me
Help me lift this burden

My heart is hurting
My wings are broken
My sky has darkened
And death lays sparkling

Where were you when I needed you ?
Where are the promises that you told me?
Where is my knight in shining armor ?
Where is the life promise with glamour?

But you lied
The hope I had died
So I reach deep inside
And finally realized
That it's only me that can save me
Only me that can Lead me where I need to me

So I no longer cry save me
For I know now
It's only I who can save me
